That did it. $3.999 for a gallon of gas. Michigan is really starting to suck... bad.
I've noticed slower speeds... with me too, scooters and many more bikes than normal brimming through town. Promising on one side and very disturbing on the other. What a booger of a predicament, huh? How does that affect me? I've conciously slowed down. And now I have to consider any traveling for trail rides. And I am plotting "safe" road routes from my house as an alternative. I have to remember to strap on my blinky lights, just in case.
Also, my job search has a very good focus of finding a community that embraces commuting and cycling. Just a safer bet in the future than having to keep shelling out $4 a gallon to go places. And this from a guy that owns a car that gets 30 MPG. I really don't feel any remorse for those driving the big SUVs and trucks. Serves you right to have to shell out $80 a tank.
On that, I just found a very interesting job op... out of town, but it is one of those one in a million shots at near bliss work. I'll follow up if there is any more developments with it, but for now... no more jinxing. Let's just say, it involves bikes!
For now, it's back to saving cash and trolling the job boards looking for hope. Hurray?
