A Leg Up

It has been an off year to say the least. Worst of all, I've been forced to hang up the bikes for many reasons beyond my control. Not ever from the lack of desire as spinning the cranks and tugging on the brake levers gives me something missing from my life right now... control. I rode a bit early on, packing on more distance than I ever could at that point in any year but at the sacrifice of the usual speed I possessed that limited my endurance. Ah well, such is the cycle of life.

My wife told me my legs have shrunk. That was like a slug to the gut. I'm atrophying! My prized massive legs disappearing! *wimper* How can it be?!

I start on a new path (hopefully) in a few weeks and at least one of my bikes will come with. And the circumstances should allow me to spend a bit of time in the saddle and reignite my legs. A bit late in the season but still time in the saddle. I will just be good to get back in the groove.

On a side note, I had the opportunity to interview with QBP (Quality Bicycle Products). For those in the know, QBP is the distribution company that supplies most of the bike shops with parts. For those even more in the know, they develop some house brands. Most famous being Salsa and Surly... very kick-butt stuff. They've got several others going like Civia commuter bikes, Problem Solvers knick-knacks, and Dimensions. But I didn't get the nod. As some there put it, "It's a dream job...". Guess I get to stay in reality for a bit longer. *shrug*
